Elmo Titanium Series: compact power for demanding motion architectures

Machines are becoming more compact, faster, and smarter. This requires servo technology that not only keeps up with these ambitions, but exceeds them.

The Elmo Titanium Series was developed for motion solutions where power, power density, and integrated Functional Safety must go hand in hand.

Thanks to GaN power switching, a high-performance multicore processor, and a wide range of configurations, the Titanium line provides a solid foundation for both compact subsystems and large-scale multi-axis architectures.

Within this series, several variants are available, each designed for a different balance between power, size, and flexibility. The Falcon, Lizard, and Solo Lizard are designed for use in harsh environments, where extreme conditions are the rule rather than the exception. Thanks to extensive environmental robustness, the drives continue to perform reliably in demanding industrial, outdoor, or high-vibration applications:

  • Operating ambient temperature: −40°C to +70°C
  • Thermal shock: −40°C to +70°C within 3 minutes
  • Altitude: −400 m to 21,336 m
  • Vibration: 20 Hz – 2000 Hz, 14.6 grms
  • Mechanical shock: ±100G – half-sine, 11 ms, 3 per direction (total 18)
  • Humidity: up to 95% non-condensing at 25°C – up to 90% non-condensing at 42°C

Below we highlight the three main options: servo drives that stand out in markets where extreme conditions are the norm, such as aerospace, offshore and subsea technology, and defense applications. This overview helps you quickly identify which version best fits your motion architecture in these demanding environments.

Titanium Falcon – maximum power, minimal installation space

The Falcon delivers two powerful axes with 2.5 kW per axis in minimal installation space, ideal when both performance and compactness are critical. Thanks to GaN technology, the drive switches ultra-fast (up to ~20 ns, 100 kHz+), resulting in precise, efficient, and energy-efficient motion. Both axes feature full Functional Safety & FSoE, while EtherCAT and an optional USB interface ensure fast integration and easy configuration.

Key benefits for machine builders:

  • High dynamics and efficiency thanks to GaN technology and ultra-fast switching times
  • Dual-axis Functional Safety for maximum safety in critical environments
  • Effortless integration via EtherCAT and USB
  • Compact yet powerful: ideal for machines where performance and space both matter

Titanium Lizard – dual-axis performance in miniature format

The Lizard is designed for applications where every millimeter counts. This ultra-compact dual-axis drive combines two powerful axes with 1.2 kW per axis in one of the smallest housings in its class. It is ideal for miniature mechanics, compact robotics, and other space-constrained subsystems.

Like the Falcon, the Lizard uses GaN technology for ultra-fast switching (~20 ns, 100 kHz+). What sets it apart is its extremely small size, flexible communication via EtherCAT and CANopen, and its ability to precisely control advanced motion within very limited installation space.

Key benefits for machine builders:

  • Ultra-compact dual-axis design for space-constrained systems
  • High precision and efficiency thanks to GaN technology and fast switching frequencies
  • Dual-axis Functional Safety & FSoE in a miniature form factor
  • Flexible integration via EtherCAT, CANopen, and USB

Titanium Solo Lizard – the same technology, single axis, maximum flexibility

The Solo Lizard offers the same powerful Titanium technology as the Lizard, but in a compact and modular form factor. It is ideal for two-channel motion modules that need to be easily installed, replaced, or scaled. Thanks to ultra-fast GaN switching times (~20 ns, 100 kHz+), it delivers highly precise and efficient motion. With full Functional Safety & FSoE/STO and an optional SafeIO expansion, the module integrates seamlessly into safety-critical systems. Via EtherCAT (and optional USB), it can be quickly integrated into any modern motion architecture.

Key benefits for machine builders:

  • Single-axis module for compact yet powerful motion functionality
  • Flexible building block for modular systems
  • High dynamics and efficiency thanks to ultra-fast GaN switching (~20 ns, 100 kHz+)
  • Ready for safe machines with Functional Safety, FSoE/STO, and SafeIO option
  • Fast integration via EtherCAT and USB

Whether you are looking for maximum power density with the Falcon, ultra-compact dual-axis performance with the Lizard, or modular flexibility with the Solo Lizard, the Titanium series provides exactly the motion architecture your machine needs to move forward.
