Absolute encoder technology
The AK series features a battery-free absolute encoder that continuously records the motor position. Because the position is always known, even after power loss, a homing sequence is no longer required when the system restarts.
The encoder supports multi-turn tracking of more than ±200,000 revolutions, making it suitable for applications with long travel distances or complex positioning requirements.
Since the system always knows its position, external limit switches or home sensors can often be eliminated, simplifying machine design and reducing wiring.
Flexible control modes
The AK series supports several control modes within a single platform:
- Full Closed-Loop Control – Supports high-precision optical encoders and a secondary encoder input for applications requiring maximum positioning accuracy.
- Closed-Loop Stepper Mode – Provides stable operation with anti-step-loss and anti-stall protection while maintaining the simplicity of stepper control.
- Closed-Loop Servo Mode – Offers higher dynamic performance with low heat generation and reliable closed-loop operation.
- Open-Loop Mode – Allows operation without an encoder for simpler motion control applications.
This flexibility allows the same hardware platform to be used in different machine concepts.
Industrial communication and integration
The AK series supports several mainstream industrial communication protocols, enabling straightforward integration with industrial controllers and motion platforms. This makes the system suitable for automated production lines, inspection equipment, and other industrial machines.
