Thomson Max Jac: electric linear actuator for harsh environments
The Max Jac is just as robust as other non-electric alternatives on the market.
The Thomson Max Jac is an electric linear actuator developed for applications where reliability under harsh conditions is essential. Its combination of a compact footprint, high protection rating, and flexible configuration makes this actuator suitable for a wide range of applications. At the same time, it aligns with the growing demand for machine electrification, where electric drives are increasingly replacing pneumatic and hydraulic solutions.
Robust design for continuous use
The actuator has an IP66/IP69K protection rating, making it resistant to dust and water. Its operation remains reliable even when exposed to fertilizers, acids, oil, and grease. The temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C enables use in both cold and hot environments without the need for additional protective measures.
Flexible use with consistent performance
Within the series, a choice can be made between a trapezoidal screw or a ball screw, depending on the desired characteristics. The trapezoidal screw offers self-locking functionality, while the ball screw is suitable for higher speeds and efficiency. The actuator supports loads up to approximately 800 N and stroke lengths up to 300 mm, covering a broad range of applications. Where positioning is important, various feedback options are available, such as analog signals or an encoder.
Applications in demanding environments
The sealed and robust construction ensures low-maintenance operation. Cleaning can be performed directly, even with high-pressure water, without additional protection. This makes the actuator suitable for applications where downtime must be minimized.
The Max Jac linear actuator is used in vehicles for agriculture, road maintenance, construction, and defense. It is also highly suitable for maritime applications such as yachts, ships, and offshore installations, where resistance to water, salt, and chemicals is essential.
